You may also be able to use STCs to reduce the upfront cost.

b. Already have solar power? Connect it as a smart electric heater

If you have solar panels, you can link them to the Solar-Ready tank and run it like a PowerStore smart-electric water heater. A lot of solar is exported to the grid when no one's home midday, this setup uses that excess to heat water instead, with the help of a controller module, power meter and energy management unit that shifts loads away from peak times.
